Patrick Sise is a graduate of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where he received his bachelors and masters degrees in guitar performance and pedagogy under the tutelage of Julian Gray.  He has performed at a wide variety of venues throughout the north east region.  These venues include solo and chamber recitals at the Peabody Institute, the Guitar Foundation of America’s regional symposium, Cecil College’s Milburn Stone Theatre, the Port Deposit Heritage Corporation concert series, and at many churches, retirement homes, and hospitals.  Notable performances include the 2010 Port Deposit Heritage Corporation Holiday Concert where Mr. Sise performed with Donald Sutherland, world renowned organist and chair of the organ department at Peabody, and The 2009-2010 John E. Marlow Guitar Series where Mr. Sise was a principal guitarist in the orchestra conducted by Julian Gray that performed Shingo Fujii’s Concerto de Los Angeles with William Kanengiser as soloist.  Mr. Sise is also an active member of the Creative Access, a student run volunteer outreach performance program.  He site coordinates for the Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Baltimore City Veterans Hospital where he performs monthly.   He teaches weekly at the Music and Arts Center in Bowie, Md; his studio is filled with a wide variety of students. He is also a teacher for the Face to Face Guitar program which is an organization that provides free lessons to Baltimore’s inner-city elementary school students. During his graduate studies at Peabody, Mr. Sise was awarded a graduate assistantship with the music education department.  One of his main duties as an assistant was to teach undergraduates guitar for their general music practicum class.

A native of Richmond Virginia, he started playing the guitar when he moved to Elkton, Maryland at the age of eleven, and received his Associates of Arts degree in music/guitar from Cecil College in 2006.  While attending Cecil, he received the 2005/06 Cecil County Arts Council Fellowship awarded annually to one student for artistic excellence.  Mr. Sise has attended master classes with David Russell, Eliot Fisk, Benjamin Verdery, Michael Newman, and also the 2005 and 2006 New York Guitar Seminar at Mannes College of Music.  He has performed in master classes for Manuel Barrueco, Adam Holzman, Laura Oltman, David Leisner, David Starobin, William Kanengiser, Bruce Holzman, Ricardo Cobo, Lorenzo Micheli, Ana Vidovic, and Nathan Fischer.  Mr. Sise will continue his education with intentions of receiving a degree in music theory, and a doctoral degree in guitar performance.
