Philip Klickman has recently completed his doctoral coursework in music education at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. During his doctoral studies, he supervised student teachers, assisted with conducting three of the six concert bands at the university, and was on the instructional staff for the U of I marching band. He was also invited to an international conducting symposium held in Rome, Italy, where he conducted the Italian Army Band. He has previously earned Masters Degrees in Music Education and French Horn Performance at the University of Illinois. Philip has 15 years of public school teaching experience in the greater metropolitan Chicago area, where he taught instrumental music in grades 4-12. Most recently, he was Director of Bands at Streamwood High School in Streamwood, Illinois. During this time, he also served as Music Director for First United Methodist Church in Lombard, Illinois. Mr. Klickman is a frequent performer on French horn, voice, and piano, and has especially enjoyed playing solo tenor horn for the award-winning Illinois Brass Band for the past 10 years. He and his wife Tracey enjoy traveling, camping, hiking, and sampling different kinds of ethnic cuisine.
