In cooperation with ACFEA, the Frostburg State University Department of Music is setting its sights on Spain for a full department performance tour during January 2018 (intersession). The tour will focus on Southern Spain, with plans to visit and perform in:
This is a wonderful goal to set our sites on to celebrate our students' hard work as everyone continues to grow over the next year! This will require a continued effort on the part of all of the ensembles to make this happen! This will include fundraising, promotion, rehearsal, and individual practice. We must make the effort as a department and within our ensembles to make this adventure a reality. This is your opportunity to really show your development and skill as musicians and performers as part of this performance cultural opportunity!
This is a non-competitive performance opportunity with the purpose to represent our Country, State and the University while showing what we are capable of and helping the world to celebrate in a show of both music and camaraderie. For our tour performances, each ensemble will be preparing several sets of music including pieces from past and present for what will prove to be an awe inspiring performance for individual ensembles and a massive gala performance with all of the ensembles.
As some of you will be alumni when this tour takes place, please know that we welcome alumni participation and you can still take part. Additionally, all students participating will be able to receive up to 3 credits of academic credit for participation in this cultural exchange and experiential learning opportunity. We are also working with the University and other avenues for financial assistance to make this opportunity as affordable and feasible as possible for every student!
If you are interested in participating in the Spain 2018 tour please contact the Music Department's Tour Coordinator as soon as possible:
