In Fall 2008, guitarist Stephen Tunstall joined the faculty
of Frostburg State University. Tunstall received a Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Guitar Performance from Northeastern Illinois University in May 2004.
There he studied with 19th century guitar music specialist, Dr. Brian
Torosian. Tunstall went on to earn his Master of Music at the Chicago
College of Performing Arts of Roosevelt University studying guitar performance
and pedagogy with Prof. Pamela Kimmel and world renowned performer Denis
Azabagic.He recently completed a Graduate Performance Diploma at the Peabody
Conservatory of Music in the studio of Julian Gray. In recent years Tunstall has performed inMasterclasses for distinguished artists Sergio Assad, Roland Dyens, Nigel North, David Leisner, and The Endellion Quartet. In October 2006 he became a member of Peabody Conservatorys Creative Access, a community outreach group giving volunteer performances at hospital wards, hospices, and shelters. Tunstall is currently an active performer in the Baltimore/DC area and also teaches and coaches youth bands at Music Workshop in Baltimore City.
