Scholarship Information

In addition to the general financial aid and scholarships available at Frostburg State University, the Political Science department currently offers three scholarship opportunities to Political Science and Justice Studies majors.
  • C. Walter Howe Memorial Political Science Scholarship
    Each year the department offers the C. Walter Howe Memorial Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, to a declared Political Science major. The student must be a junior at the time of application, with an overall and department G.P.A. of 2.5 or above. This scholarship was created to honor a long-time faculty member and encourages involvement in co-curricular activities and an interest in contemporary political issues. More information

  • Political Science Endowed Scholarship
    Each year the Political Science Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a declared major in political science with demonstrated interest in civic affairs. The award amount is $300. More information

  • Paul J. Creamer Memorial Scholarship

  • The Maryland Sheriff's Institute Scholarship
    Each year the Maryland Sheriff's Institute Scholarship is awarded to a junior of senior with a declared major in Justice Studies or law & Society and an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. This scholarship is also in the amount of $500. More information
