Psi Chi National Honor Society
 

What is Psi Chi?

It is the National Honor Society for Psychology Students. 
 


Why should I join?

  • Be a member of one of the most prestigious Honor societies on campus.
  • Be one of the few who can wear the blue and gold honor cord at graduation.
  • Be eligible for exclusive scholarships.
  • Be involved in the fun and excitement of Psychological Conventions.
  • Be able to present a paper as a Psi Chi member at conventions. 
  • Be noteworthy among your faculty and potential employers. 

Requirements for Membership in the National Organization
 
  1. You must be registered as a Psychology Major or a graduate student in the M.S. Counseling Psychology program.
  2. Completion of six credit hours and currently enrolled in at least three additional credit hours in Psychology at Frostburg State University with a Psychology GPA of at least 3.20 or better
       or
    Completion of nine credit hours in Psychology at Frostburg State University with a Psychology GPA of at least 3.20 or better (Transferred credits are not counted)
  3. Completion of six additional credit hours in any department at Frostburg State University, for a total of 15 credits, at Frostburg State University with an overall GPA of at least 3.00 or better (Nine in Psychology and six in any other department.)
  4. Graduate Students: Completion of six credit hours in Psychology at Frostburg State University with a Psychology GPA of at least 3.40 or better.
  5. High standards of personal behavior.
  6. Two-thirds affirmative vote of those member present at a regular meeting of the chapter.

  • Dues are required. There are 2 one-time only fees associated with Psi Chi-see the current Psi Chi advisor for details.
