Amelia Derezinski - Biography

Adjunct Dance Faculty

Amelia Derezinski has been choreographing, dancing and teaching in New York City for the past eleven years. As director of two dance companies, Pirate Girl Productions and Torque Dance, Amelia has produced her own and others’ works in New York City, Canada and Maryland.  Since earning her Masters of Arts degree in Dance Education from New York University, she has been teaching dance in the New York City public school system and as a guest artist/lecturer at New York University, Oberlin College and Frostburg State University. She is the author of two dance books for middle school students, Star Turns and Twyla Tharp and is a licensed Gyrotonic instructor. Amelia recently returned to her hometown of Frostburg and teaches Physical Education for the Allegany County Board of Education.
