Performing Arts Center (PAC)

FSU's state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center is a nineteen-million dollar facility that houses the Pealer Recital Hall, Drama Theatre and the F. Perry Smith Studio Theater.

Drama Theatre The jewel of the PAC, the Drama Theatre is a 334 seat adjustable proscenium theatre with 24 linesets and 4 dedicated electrics on winch motors, state of the art sound system, brand new light boards, six intelligent lights, a full compliment of draperies and full-size doors leading into the scene shop for easy load in.

F. Perry Smith Studio Theatre The studio is our black box, featuring flexible seating, catwalk access for lighting and scenery hang, brand new light boards and superior sound system.

Rehearsal Studio The Rehearsal Studio is a large studio space located in the Performing Arts Center, designed and utilized for theatre, musical theatre and dance courses and rehearsals. The floor is a suspended wooden floor and it has an independant lighting system for small presentations and directing class.

Costume Shop The costume shop is one of our busiest spaces, responsible for all Department of Theatre and Dance Productions, Opera, and provides valuable techincal experience and potential employment to our students through work-study and partnerships with the Cultural Events Series.

Scene Shop Look for long-time resident and shop foreman Gary Robinette who coordinates with PAC Technical Director Conrad Maust to bring in build 8-10 shows per year and oversee all training on our state of the art welding equipment, radial arm and band saws metal shop and a full-size drop paint frame.

Dance Studio
The Dance Studio is located in the Harold J. Cordts P.E. Center, a short walk from the PAC across Frostburg's beautiful campus. Amenities include a state-of-the-art 40 'x 66' space with 12 foot ceilings, a Gerstung suspended floor with a vinyl covering, full legnth mirrior, fixed and movable balle barres, easily accessible restroom and changing areas and students have access to a swimming pool/showers, weight room and athletic/sports courts.
