Production Coordinator/Technical Theatre Instructor

Gordon retired from the United States Army, as a First Sergeant, after 24 years as a Combat Engineer, Demolition Expert. His duties included spending four years as the Senior Military Instructor of the Army ROTC Program at Frostburg. In the fall of 2000 Gordon returned to Frostburg State as a non-traditional student. Upon graduation Gordon was hired as the Facility Manager/Staff Technical Director for the Department of Theatre and Dance at California University of PA. Gordon returns to Frostburg as the Production Coordinator providing hands on experience to the students in the aspect of technical theater.

Gordon graduated from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland with a degree in Theater Design and Production and a minor in Graphic Design with a certificate in Computer Technology. Some of his credits include; Set designer for The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek, This is Our Youth, Anything Goes, Oklahoma, A Christmas Story, You can’t take it with you, and Dear Edwina Jr. The Assistant Set Designer for The Importance of Being Earnest, Metamorphosis, and Damn Yankees. The Lighting Designer for The Importance of Being Earnest, The Vagina Monologues, Anything Goes, Oklahoma and The Frostburg State University Dance Company. Gordon also worked as the Master Carpenter on the Wizard of Oz and Windwood Productions Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and served as the Technical Director for the Dogwood Dell Amphitheater in Richmond Virginia.

Gordon is a member of the Pinnacle, The National Honor Society for non-traditional students and Alpha Psi Omega, The National Theatre Honor Society. He credits his military experience and training for his success as a non-traditional student and his ability to work closely and teach young people.
