Dusty Shaffer is a costume designer and theatrical professor. He has assisted and designed costumes for numerous theatre, dance, and opera productions. Design and assistant design credits include La Bohème for the Springfield Regional Opera, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine for The Cape Playhouse, Forever Plaid for Festival 56, and Gypsy for Phoenix Entertainment.
In addition to his professional work, Shaffer has taught and guest designed at Drury University (Springfield, MO), Belmont University (Nashville, TN), and Southwest Baptist University (Bolivar, MO). Shaffer holds an M.F.A. in Costume Design from the University of Florida (2009), an M.A. in Theatre from Missouri State University (2005), and a B.G.S. in Theatre and Film from the University of Kansas (1998).
In 2008, Shaffer won the graduate costume design competition at the Southeastern Theatre Conference and the David Weiss Award for costume design at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (Region IV).
