Women's Studies Program

Welcome to the Women's Studies Program!

Women's Studies is a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary approach to integrating knowledge about women and gender across the academic curriculum. Women's Studies at Frostburg State University explores the impact of gender and other types of diversity on the scope, methods, and assumptions of academic disciplines such as art, philosophy, music, theatre, history, literature, psychology and sociology.

Feminism is generally defined as the social movement to end sexism. But, how do we achieve this move toward equality? Well, that’s where feminist action comes into play. And, here at Frostburg State University, students and faculty are promoting change by raising their voices in the classroom and through creative productions like the Vagina Monologues and in Poetry Slams.
