FSU students Chey Hillsgrove, Michael McNair and Ashley Daniels say they haven’t really ridden their bicycles since they were kids, but this summer they are biking between 60 and 120 miles a day for 67 days on a trip across the country.

Students in FSU’s Department of Mass Communication have been making a splash on the national stage, first with a film earning an honorable mention from the Broadcast Education Association and then with a team of students winning the opportunity to attend the National Association of Broadcasters convention and create daily videos highlighting the vendors there.

Since the upgraded fitness center opened in the Cordts Physical Education Center in the summer of 2009, it has grown into a high-caliber program that serves the fitness needs of the entire FSU campus community, with a staff that not only handles the needs of all 21 athletic teams and their workout programs, but offers personalized training to faculty, staff, the general student body and community members of Activities for Life.

The start of college football may be a month away at Frostburg, but the season is just wrapping up for one Bobcat coach. Bobcat cornerback coach Brian Basile also serves as an assistant with the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League.
