From humble beginnings, FSU’s Children’s Literature Centre has grown into an educational powerhouse of year-round events that helps teachers, librarians and parents foster the love of reading in young people. And even though founder Dr. William Bingman has officially retired, he’s still on the scene and planning the Centre’s next chapter.

The FSU softball team capped off its best season in history with the AMCC Tournament champion-ship and its first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament this spring.

A lounge with a mix of traditional and cutting-edge games, sound and lighting systems that can be adapted to many kinds of events and a dramatically reduced environmental footprint are all on tap in the new and improved Lane University Center once its renovations are complete this year.

Twenty-six proposals designed to meet the goals of student enrichment, academic enrichment and regional and cultural enrichment, the themes of Staking Our Claim: The Campaign for Frostburg, have been approved for funding from the FSU Foundation’s unrestricted Annual Fund. The proposals, from FSU’s faculty, staff and students, offer a variety of creative ways to reinvest in the campus community.
