Genus Description:

This is a genus of perennial herbs that are erect, slender, and branching. There are basal and cauline leaves that are ternately compound and variously lobed or clefted.  The showy flowers are pendulous with 5 sepals and petals which are spurred. The fruit is a beaked follicle.
