As you prepare for your graduation from Frostburg State University, please keep the following points in mind.

• You will graduate from either the College of Business, the College of Education, or the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Since there are four Commencement ceremonies each year (morning and afternoon, winter and spring) the University utilizes a rotation schedule to establish which ceremony (morning or afternoon) will be utilized by which College. Actual dates of Commencement are posted as soon as the academic calendar is approved.

• If you are relatively sure that you are going to be graduating in the current semester, go to the Bookstore as early as possible and make arrangements for your cap and gown (301/687-4341). Academic regalia is provided free of charge to all graduating seniors.
  
  
• To participate in Commencement, you must have successfully completed, or be enrolled in the semester prior to the ceremony, all course work required for you to complete your degree. A very limited set of exceptions is outlined on page 40 of the current catalog.
  
  
• An initial announcement of Commencement dates is made at the beginning of each semester. A special mailing is sent approximately one month after the beginning of the semester to all seniors who have successfully completed a degree audit. If you did not receive this mailing, it is usually because you have not yet been cleared for graduation (e.g., you are waiting for a grade from an internship, or you've not yet turned in your final project to clear an "incomplete"). This mailing is sent to both your local and your permanent address.

• A second mailing is sent one month before Commencement and includes details on the videotaping and photography services and final updates.
  
  
  
• This website is updated on a regular basis to provide the most current information about FSU's Commencement Ceremony.

Portraits
For your convenience, GradTrak by Graduation Images will be taking cap and gown portrait photos prior to your ceremony. You will will receive a passport-sized, digital proof in the mail approximately one week after the ceremony. There is no obligation to purchase, and Graduation Images guarantees complete satisfaction. Times for photos will be 8:15 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. for the College of Business & College of Education ceremony and 12:15 p.m.- 1:30 p.m. for the Liberal Arts & Sciences ceremony.
