CIRQUE LE MASQUE

Cirque Le Masque

A sophisticated European-style circus, Cirque Le Masque has been captivating audiences worldwide for over 15 years. At its core are the impressive mid-air and balancing acts, which feature incredible strength, lightning reflexes, impeccable timing and theatrical artistry. Combining acrobatics, dance, mime, juggling and aerial artistry with lavish costumes, unusual props, creative music and unique special effects, this circus sets out to astound, amaze and mesmerize the audience.

Cirque Le MasqueEach show is created around a theme or a story that loosely connects all the acts and performers. As the performance
progresses, increasingly complex and daring feats thrill and delight viewers, young and old alike. Recommended for all ages, this exciting performance is perfect family entertainment and something you will remember and talk about for a long time!

SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH

Jazz Brunch

Sunday, two seatings - 10:30 am & Noon

Relax and enjoy a delicious brunch with live jazz entertainment from the FSU community. The menu will include cheddar scrambled eggs, carved ham and turkey, potatoes, salads, pasta, breakfast breads, vegetables and desserts.

There will be two seatings at 10:30 am and noon. Please arrive no later than 11:15 am or 12:45 pm for each seating.

Advance ticket purchase required. Adults and children 11 and over $15; children 6-10 $7.50; children 5 and younger, no charge. FSU students may not use their meal plan for the Jazz Brunch and will require a ticket for this event.

Larry is also an award-winning magician and has won accolades for excellence in stage

Ratatouille posterA rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the city of Paris, he is living beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Remy forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the garbage boy, who discovers Remy’s amazing talents. They strike a deal and turn the culinary world of Paris upside down. Remy finds himself torn between following his dreams or living his life as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having to be who he really
is – a rat who wants to be a chef.

DAY OF CARING AND SHARING

Ready, Set, Volunteer! Organize a team with your residence hall, club and even your family! Come and join the residents of Frostburg and other community groups to help beautify the city. Breakfast, lunch and T-shirts will be provided to all volunteers! Van shuttles will be available in front of Annapolis Hall starting at 8 am for those who need transportation. If you are driving on your own, you should check in at the Domino’s Pizza parking lot on Main Street. Volunteers may participate in a variety of activities, including painting, trash removal and landscaping. To register, call the Center for Volunteerism and National Service at 301.687.4210.

Enjoy brunch on campus with many delicious options available including an omelet station, breakfast foods, pasta, salads, fruit, desserts and fun foods for the kids. Chesapeake Dining Hall will be closed. Students with a meal plan may use one of their meals for this event.

Ticket purchase required. $6.25 for adults; $4.25 for children; FSU students may use their meal plan, but must present student I.D. at the door. Advance ticket purchase recommended. All seating will be based on a first-come, first-served.

Tech Showcase 2006Check out Frostburg State University’s state-of-the-art facilities in areas such as the two-story Foucault pendulum, robotics, geographic information sciences, biotechnology, environmental research, the FSU wind tunnel, chemical analysis and forensic science, wildlife and fisheries research and computer technology applications. Guests will be able to tour the laboratories, observe the work of student researchers and participate in hands-on activities. Refreshments will be available.


MAMMALS OF THE WORLDantelope

Enjoy a guided tour of the professionally prepared taxidermic mounts of mammals. The collection of specimens comprises the nucleus of the new Exploratorium. Guests will see specimens representing various orders of animals from throughout the world including such African ungulates (hoofed animals) as elands, kudus, gazelles and buffalos; carnivores, including lions, leopards, hyenas and jackals; and distinctive North American species.

UNDERSTANDING CHANGE: A MODEL FOR ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL GROWTH

This program will help you better understand what your student may be going through during his or her time at FSU and how you can help
support your student as he or she grows and matures! Presented by Dr. Judy Pula, this session will explore the parallels that exist between the well-established change processes needed for successful personal growth—in college and beyond. Dr. Pula is a professor in the Department of English, an FSU graduate and a specialist in the teaching of composition, reading and students with disabilities.


PLANETARIUM SHOW
“INNER PLANETS: 2 HOT, 2 COLD AND 1 JUST RIGHT”

This planetarium show will explore the four planets closest to the sun. Mercury and Mars, the “M&M” planets, have some similarities and some
big differences. Venus has been called “the Earth’s evil twin” because of her horrid surface conditions, while appearing as a beautiful
morning “star” in our eastern dawn. Will our Earth ever change so much that it resembles one of our planet neighbors? Find out by seeing “Inner Planets.”


SERVE AS A FAMILYVolunteer worker 2006

Join the Student Center for Volunteerism for a volunteer project benefiting our local hospitals. Volunteers will be decorating picture frames that will be donated to long-term care patients. Come and decorate for a good cause!

Enjoy an afternoon of fall fun and games. Enjoy carnival foods and fun-filled fall activities for all ages provided by FSU student organizations and offices. Some activities may have a small cost.

Join FSU faculty for a guided tour of the Arboretum and a chance to see the wide variety of birds that make it their home.


SCENIC BIKE RIDE

Allegheny Trailhead, The Old Depot,
Frostburg (below Domino’s Pizza on Main Street)

Mountian bikeJoin FSU faculty for a mountain bicycle ride covering six miles of the Great Allegheny Passage (12 miles round trip). This will be a casual ride and all levels of bikers are welcome! If you get tired, you can
always turn around. This section of the trail has two tunnels, with plenty of beautiful scenery and wildlife. Bring your own bike or rent a bike at Adventure Sports, 163 Main St., Frostburg.

To pre-order your bike rental, call 301.689.0345. All necessary equipment will be provided, and if you mention that you are visiting a FSU student, you will receive a discount. Be sure to bring water and dress accordingly. Should it rain, the ride will be canceled and will not be rescheduled.
