Q: What is the Faculty & Staff Campaign?
A: The Faculty & Staff Campaign is an opportunity for Frostburg State University faculty and staff to be role models for FSU students as generous leaders who support the Annual Fund along with their favorite scholarships, programs and departments on campus.
Q: I already work here. Why should I give?
A: You, more than anyone, know the difference that a college education makes. Your tax-deductible gifts enrich the lives of our students and make their dreams a reality. Many scholarships, professional development opportunities, athletic activities and cultural enrichment programs for our students are funded because of your gifts. Your leadership ensures that a legacy of excellent academics, affordable tuition and challenging extracurricular activities will continue to be available at FSU.
Q: Where do I get a Payroll Deduction form?
A: The University Advancement Office will send you one via campus mail at the beginning of the Fall semester. If you do not receive one, please call University Advancement at x4068 or e-mail Brianne Reason at blreason@frostburg.edu. Return the forms to the FSU Foundation by November 16, 2012.
Q: What is the deadline?
A: November 16, 2012, is the deadline for returning your Payroll Deduction forms to the FSU Foundation. If you will have difficulty responding by November 16, please call us at x4068.
Q: Where do I send the form?
A: Send your form in campus mail to the FSU Foundation by
November 16, 2012.
Q: How do I find out my employee ID number?
A: Your ID number is under your name on your timesheet (both paper and online).
Q: I want to continue giving the same amount as last year. Do I need to fill out a new form?
A: Yes. We do, however, offer the annual sustaining option by which the form will be filled out for your convenience each year, and we will only require your signature to complete it. Simply check the appropriate box on your Payroll Deduction form this year for convenient giving next year.
Q: May I restrict my gift to a specific area?
A: Yes. We recommend you give to the unrestricted Annual Fund because it addresses the areas of the University with the greatest need. Last year the Annual Fund provided funding for the S.T.E.M. program, Alcohol Research, Study Abroad Scholarships, internships and many other projects. The Annual Fund also supports the FSU Foundation Opportunity Grants awarded each spring.
Of course, you can restrict your gift to a program or scholarship you wish to support. Simply designate your wishes on your Payroll Deduction form. Remember to consider an additional gift to the Forever Frostburg scholarship, an emergency scholarship program for students with the greatest need. It will help close the gap created by both decreases in state funding and increasing student need.
See a complete list of designated funds.
Q: I want to designate my gift, but I do not know the account number.
A: See a complete list of designated funds.
Q: May I split my gift among different programs?
A: Yes. Write on your form the areas you wish to support and the percentage of your gift you wish to go to each area.
Q: I want to give less than $5 per pay period. Can I still participate?
A: Absolutely! Payroll deduction has a minimum level of $5 per pay period, but you may give through one of several other easy methods.
Other options include check, credit card, electronic funds transfer, and online giving through PayPal. See information on these ways to give.
Q: What is the difference between this and the Maryland Charity Campaign?
A: While you are able to designate Frostburg State University through the Maryland Charity Campaign, not all of your gift is received by FSU due to administrative fees. There are no administrative fees for your gift through the Faculty and Staff Campaign, meaning more of your money is going directly to the programs of your choosing.
Q: What if I have more questions?
A: Please call University Advancement at x4068, or e-mail Brianne Reason at blreason@frostburg.edu. We are happy to help!
