Habitat description: Lives in grass plains and dry woodland areas. Originally found in Africa, Asia, and Southeast Europe.

Behavior, Diet: Carnivore. Mainly eats antelope, reptiles, and insects. Often scavenges for food. Lives in packs of 10-30 and use their large numbers to their advantage to hunt for food and protect each other. Nocturnal and crepuscular (active at dawn and dusk).

Conservation status: Listed as a least concern.
