Behavior/Diet: Herbivore. Will eat grass, shrubs, tree bark, twigs. They are sociable though the female and male groups are usually separate.
Conservation Status: Listed as a least concern because of how adaptive they are and their increasing numbers. Biggest threats are diseases and deforestation.
Fun Fact: An elk’s stomach has 4 chambers the 1st to store food and the rest to digest it.
