Hometown: Avenue, MD

High School: Chopticon High School, Class of 2010

Why FSU?
I chose Frostburg because of the program for my major. A good amount of my teachers in high school went to Frostburg and they all enjoyed their experience here, so that made me decide to apply. When I first got here, I knew it was the school for me. The scenery of Frostburg is gorgeous, it’s far enough away from home that I can learn to be independent, but I can go home if I need to, and I felt at home. What has kept me at Frostburg is a number of things. The teachers at Frostburg care about us students and whether we succeed or not, and I have been able to grow relationships with my past professors that will allow me to be able to go to them for any kind of help in the future. I have also been able to make friendships from organizations that I have joined that I will keep for a life time. I know that everything that I have experienced here at Frostburg will be able to help me for the rest of my life and that is why I chose Frostburg.

How I stay involved:
I am an At-Large Senator to the Student Government Association, I am a Bobcat Ambassador, I work in the Lane University Center at the Information Desk, and I am a sister of Delta Zeta National Sorority.

Life after the Burg:
I plan on graduating from Frostburg in the Spring of 2014 with my degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. I plan on going back to the Southern Maryland area and getting a job in an Elementary School. My dream is to go back to school within my first 5 years of teaching to get my Masters and one day my Doctorate and someday be a Superintendent of a school system in the state of Maryland.
