Hometown: Lanham, Maryland

High School: DuVal High School, Class of 2009

Why FSU?
When doing my college search, I didn’t want a school that was so big that I felt like a number, but so small that I felt like I was still in high school. I wanted a school that wasn’t too close or too far from my family. I went to a predominantly African-American high school, so I wanted a college that was more diverse. I then looked into FSU after the suggestion of a few alumni that I know. FSU had all of the characteristics that I was looking for in a college. I then came to an open house and fell in love with the campus and the sceneries during the drive here. I felt comfortable at FSU from the first time a came here. When I stood on the balcony of the library, I felt that FSU was the choice for me.

How I stay involved:
I am a Bobcat Ambassador, I am a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), and I am a member of the Social Work Alliance.

Life after the Burg:
I plan on graduating from Frostburg in the fall of 2013 with my degree in Social Work. After graduation I plan on returning back to my hometown and beginning my Social Work career in Child Protective Services. After a few years of field experience, I will return back to school to get my Masters degree in Social Work, and the eventually my Ph.D.
