Report: Recruiting Targeted Industries to Frostburg Could Keep More FSU Grads in Region

In 2016, the city of Frostburg, supported by Frostburg State University and the Appalachian Regional Commission, ordered a study to determine which industries are most likely to employ FSU graduates. By recruiting such industries, city officials hoped more FSU students would choose to remain in Frostburg and the surrounding areas after graduation.

Frostburg State’s New Veterans Service Center Offers Even More for Veteran Students

For the second time in as many years, Frostburg State University’s military service members and veteran students have a new Veterans Service Center to call home, now at 150 Park Ave. in Frostburg. With more than 500 additional square feet of space and a segmented floor plan, the new center expands and improves services for FSU’s nearly 200 veterans, military-connected service members and dependents.

Tibetan Monks to Construct Mandala Sand Painting During Residency at FSU

As part of their five-day residency at Frostburg State University, Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery will construct a mandala sand painting from Sunday, March 5, to Thursday, March 9, in FSU’s Lewis J. Ort Library.

CES at FSU Presents World-Class Performers in Spring Lineup of Its 60th Anniversary Season

CES at Frostburg State University continues its 60th anniversary season with a spring lineup of award-winning musicians and professional artists from around the world. Performers include French songstress Cyrille Aimée, contemporary violinist Daniel Davis, the Buddhist monks of the Drepung Loseling Monastery, the a cappella group The Filharmonic, the Irish musicians of the Brock McGuire Band, jazz musician Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Russian pianist Yuliya Gorenman, who will join the Maryland Symphony Orchestra in a celebration of Beethoven.

FROSTBURG, Md. – Dr. Elizabeth Throop, currently Acting Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, has been named Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Frostburg State University. She will join FSU on July 1, 2017.

Frostburg State Online Nursing Programs Receive Continuing and Initial Accreditation

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education has accredited two of Frostburg State University’s online nursing programs, granting initial accreditation for its new online Master of Science in Nursing program and giving continuing accreditation for the popular Bachelor of Science in Nursing completion program.
