FSU to Host Satellite Event for National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment

Anyone with an interest in the scientific and policy issues surrounding energy and climate change is invited to Frostburg State University to attend the free satellite event of the 15th National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment: Energy and Climate Change from Tuesday, Jan. 27, to Thursday, Jan. 29. The broadcast of the program, with interactive participation available for the question-and-answer segments, will be in room 397 of the Center for Communications and Information Technology.

Frostburg State University Names John Short New Vice President for Advancement

Frostburg State University has named John Short, associate vice president for Development at Albright College in Reading, Pa., as vice president for University Advancement and executive director of the FSU Foundation, Inc., overseeing all fundraising operations and alumni programs for the University. He will join FSU on Feb. 2.

FSU Police Receives Governor’s Crime Prevention Award for 24th Year

For the 24th consecutive year, Frostburg State University Police has received the Governor’s Crime Prevention Award under Category A for its comprehensive law enforcement agency crime prevention program. On Dec. 4, Lt. Scott Donahue, along with Sgt. Jason McCumber, attended the 35th Annual Governor’s Crime Prevention Awards Program and Luncheon in Annapolis where Donahue was presented with a plaque/trophy on behalf of the department.

FSU Honored for Community Service for Fourth Consecutive Year

For the fourth consecutive year, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) has honored Frostburg State University as a leader among institutions of higher education for its support of volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement, admitting FSU to the 2014 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, this year under the category of General Community Service.

Frostburg State University to Celebrate Student Achievement at 145th Commencement

Frostburg State University celebrates the achievements of the fall 2014 graduating class with the 145th Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 20. The ceremony for the colleges of Business, Education and Liberal Arts and Sciences will take place at 2 p.m. in the Main Arena of the Cordts Physical Education Center.
