Senior Lance Williams went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and sophomore Mike Gitzen added three hits, including a solo homer, to lead Frostburg State to a 15-4 win over All-stars of the Bahamas Baseball Federation Thursday night.
The Bobcats wrapped up their international trip to Nassau going 2-0 and scoring 32 runs over the two games.
Sophomore catcher Ryan Webb blasted a two-run home run in the first inning to cap an eight-run outburst.
Freshman pitcher Marcus Nalls pitched two hitless innings, striking out three.
Teddy Sweeting, the Bahamas Baseball Federation General Secretary, feels like the exposure garned from the trip will serve to improve the level of play in the New Providence and heighten the degree of competitiveness among the local teams.
"The experience was something that we will remember for the rest of our lives," Bobcat Head Coach Chris McKnight. "The Baseball Federation was very helpful and the people of the island really embraced the team. It’s a great place to visit and hopefully we will get an opportunity to come back."
