- Following their 17-14 marathon victory in their regular season finale over Juniata College, the Frostburg State University baseball team (29-8-1) was notified that they cracked the top 30 ranked teams in the nation.
Currently ranked 29th, the Bobcats are riding a 13-game winning streak and have won 19 of their last 21 games. They also currently rank fifth in the Mid-Atlantic region, of which the top six from every region earn an invite to the NCAA post-season tournament.
The Bobcats still have remaining games as part of the AMCC tournament that begins this weekend, starting Friday, May 2, 2003 with a first round match-up with Pitt-Bradford at noon.
With one more victory, the Bobcats will reach 30 victories for the first time under Head Coach Chris McKnight and the first time since 1999 were the Bobcats went 32-12. If the Bobcats can reach 30 wins, it will be the sixth time in the programs 39-year history that they have reached that mark.
