FROSTBURG, Md. —
The Frostburg State baseball team and several of its players are ranked among the NCAA Division III national statistics leaders.
Among the 351 teams in DIIII, the Bobcats are fourth in the country in slugging percentage (.527), fifth in homeruns per game (.98) and sixth in doubles per game (2.64). FSU is 15th in fielding percentage (.966), 27th in scoring (8.2 runs per game) and 34th in batting average (.336).
Individually, freshman pitcher Aaron Main (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) is ninth in the nation in victories (9) and 23rd in strikeouts (75.0) while sophomore pitcher Scott Eastment (Warrenton, Va./Paul VI (Georgetown)) is 23rd in the country in victories (8).
Senior catcher Ryan Webb (Westminster, Md./South Carroll) is 10th in slugging percentage (.781) and junior Allen Peake (Fredericksburg, Va./Stafford) is 16th in homeruns (10), 30th in RBIs per game (1.27) and 39th in homeruns per game (.23). Junior Bryan Burke (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst (LIU)) is 27th in triples per game (.15) and 32nd in stolen bases (.68).
Frostburg State finished the season 31-15 overall and 13-5 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference and made its second-straight trip to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.
