FSU put the game out of reach in the third, scoring nine runs to take a 12-4 advantage. Webb led off the inning with a solo homerun to center field followed by a sophomore Joe Daddura (Fallston, Md./Calvert Hall) two-run single to left. Junior Mike Gitzen (Sterling, Va./Potomac Falls) closed out the inning with an RBI single to center.

The visitors used RBIs from Holmes and Mitchell in the fifth and Daddura and freshman Bryan Short (Ashburn, Va./Paul VI) in the sixth to close out the scoring.

Freshman pitcher Freddy Foshay (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) threw 3.0 innings in relief allowing two hits while striking out three to earn his second win of the season.
