FROSTBURG, MD —
Three Frostburg State athletes are ranked among the national leaders in the latest NCAA Division III football statistics released Wednesday.
Senior running back DeNelle Hale (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) is 19th in all purpose yardage, averaging 177.0 yards per game. He has gained 230 yards rushing and added 60 on punt returns, 48 on kickoff returns and 16 more receiving in the Bobcats' first two games of the year.
Hale is also ranked 15th in the nation with his 15.0 yards per punt return average.
Junior defensive tackle George O'Brien (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) is averaging 2.0 sacks per game to tie for second in the country, and he ranks eighth with 2.5 tackles for loss per contest.
Junior defensive end Ronald Luczak (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) is tied for ninth in the nation with 2.3 tackles for loss per game.
The Bobcats open their home slate against Chowan College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
