Bobcats Fall to Mount St. Joseph in NCAA Second Round

The Frostburg State volleyball team fell to host and top seed College of Mount St. Joseph, 3-1 (15-3, 15-3, 15-3), in the semifinals of the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Tournament. The Bobcats end their season with a 34-4 overall record, while the Lions (31-4) advance to tomorrow's regional final to face No. 3 Wittenberg, a 3-2 winner over second-seeded Ohio Northern in Friday's other semifinal.
Junior Heather Abucevicz (Mt. Savage, Md./Mt. Savage) recorded a team-high eight kills and added eight digs for the Bobcats, who recorded their first-ever NCAA Tournament win Thursday with a 3-1 victory over fifth-seeded Baldwin-Wallace.
Seniors Sara Schwartz (Philomont, Va./Loudoun Valley) and Amber Waltz (Cumberland, Md./Fort Hill) each added five kills, and fellow senior Christy Mann (Elkton, Md./North East) had 21 assists and a team-high 14 digs.
