Also victorious for the Bobcats were Jay Garner in the 200m freestyle (2:05.13), Kelly Ryan in the 100m freestyle (55.79) and Ben Marrapodi in the 100m backstroke (1:09.52, season-best).
Freshman diver Andrew Mlynarski swept both diving events, and the FSU 200m medley relay and 200m freestyle relay teams swam to convincing victories (2:01.10 and 1:48.15).
Also swimming strongly for the Bobcats were Ryan Kentrus (4th, 50m freestyle; 27.82, personal best), Greg Barnhart (3rd, 200m freestyle; 2:24.77, personal best), and Jabrie Lovelace (3rd, 50m freestyle; 27.00).
"I think the team swam exceptionally tonight," commented Head Coach Chip Villarreal. "The swimmers have really been hammered in the last two weeks of training. Considering the intensity of their training, and the level of exhaustion each swimmer is feeling now, I am very happy with how they swam. When they rest in a few weeks before championships, they are going to really shine."
The women improved their dual meet record to 2-6, while the men reached the 7-1 mark.
The Bobcats return to action Friday, January 19 at home against Marymount University beginning at 4:00 p.m.
