Bonn, Lewis Highlight Track & Field Performances at Mary Washington Relays

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – Senior Brian Bonn (Glen Burnie/Glen Burnie, Md.) placed second in the 1,500-meter run and sophomore Chelsea Lewis (Pike/Indianapolis, Ind.) added a runner-up finish in the 100-meter dash to highlight Frostburg State’s performances at the Mary Washington College Battleground Relays last weekend.

Bonn finished in a time of 4:10.49, while Lewis posted a time of 12.94.

On the men’s side, sophomore Sid Bittinger (Westmar/Midland, Md.) was fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:22.96), freshman Bryan Powers (Archbishop Curley/Baltimore, Md.) placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (16.90) and freshman Scott Yanus (Damascus/Damascus, Md.) finished eighth in the 10,000-meter run (36:11.90).

In the 100-meter dash, sophomore Jonas Horst (Clear Spring/Clear Spring, Md.) led the way with a 10th-place showing (11.77). Sophomore Nick Poulos (Springbrook/Silver Spring, Md.) was 22nd (12.31) and sophomore Dan Ruppert (Brooke Point/Stafford, Va.) was 27th (12.59).

Freshman Josh Dawson (North East/Elkton, Md.) was 12th in the 1,500-meter run (4:19.67) and sophomore Calvin Kiple (Fallston/Forest Hill, Md.) finished 30th in the event (4:57.09).

Freshman Stephen Forsha (Magruder/Rockville, Md.) led FSU in the 3,000-meter run, finishing 19th (10:14.40). Fellow freshman Matt Litts (Broadneck/Arnold, Md.) was close behind in 21st (10:22.10).

Freshman Andrew Parker (Springbrook/Silver Spring, Md.) placed 11th in the 5,000-meter run (16:44.90), while junior Kevin Ripple (Leonardtown/Mechanicsville, Md.) was 17th (17:10.14). Junior Jonathan Masse (Fort Hill/Cumberland, Md.) was 20th (17:20.75) and senior Kevyn Allgeier (C. Milton Wright/Bel Air, Md.) placed 21st (17:22.18).

Freshman James Pruitt (Stafford/Stafford, Va.) finished 16th in the shot put with a mark of 36-4.

The Bobcat men were also sixth in the distance medley relay (11:23.05) and eighth in the 4x200-meter relay (1:39.48).

On the women’s side, senior Beth Sauder (Southern Garrett/Oakland, Md.) enjoyed a solid day, finishing sixth in the both the 1,500-meter run (5:17.34) and the 5,000-meter run (21:25.85).

In the 1,500-meter run, junior Lynnea Finch (Franklin/Owings Mills, Md.) and freshman Sheila Kurtz (Boonsboro/Thurmont, Md.) were 14th (5:30.93) and 16th (5:36.00), respectively.

Sophomore Laura Knight (Bel Air/Bel Air, Md.) added a 13th-place finish in the pole vault (8-6), while freshman Ashley Ermer (Liberty/Sykesville, Md.) was 26th in the discus (17-4) and 28th in the shot put (51-0).
