Frostburg State juniors Pierre Bowery (Kensington, Md./Albert Einstein)
and Kim Faust (Ambler, Pa./Upper Dublin)
were been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Basketball Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Bowery, who picked up his third league honor of the season, led the Bobcats to a 2-0 week by averaging 31.5 points and 9.0 rebounds.
He had 29 points and seven rebounds in just 17 minutes of FSU's 100-51 win over Penn State Altoona Wednesday, and he followed with a career-high 34 points and 11 rebounds in an 86-78 overtime victory against La Roche Saturday.
The FSU men, who finished the regular season 14-11 and 9-3 in the AMCC, enter this week's AMCC Tournament as the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 Penn State Altoona in a first-round game on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Faust took home her second AMCC weekly honor of the year after averaging 26.5 points and 14.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week.
She had 25 points and 10 rebounds in a 78-72 loss to regular-season champion Penn State Altoona Wednesday, and she posted 28 points and 19 rebounds in Saturday's 78-69 road win over La Roche.
Faust moved into ninth place on FSU's all-time scoring chart with 1,163 career points.
The Bobcat women finished with a 3-9 mark in the AMCC and take their No. 6 seeding into this week's AMCC Tournament. They visit No. 3 Penn State Behrend on Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. first-round game.
