The Department of Visual Arts at Frostburg State University announces the opening of the senior thesis exhibition, “Breakout!” The exhibition will be on view from Nov. 20 through Dec. 1 in FSU’s Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery. The opening reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the gallery.
“Breakout!” includes work by four student artists: Gabriel Aguilar, Kristen Fox, Alyson Jackson and Allen C. Paul. The four up-and-coming artists will show the outcome of four to five years of studying the arts at FSU.
Aguilar is a graphic designer whose artwork is influenced by Hispanic-style graffiti, Mayan temple artwork and Pablo Picasso. Fox, also a graphic designer, experiments with available software programs to create artwork that expresses her thoughts and feelings. Jackson found a passion for photography and capturing a moment to make it last forever, and has become interested in fashion photography. Paul incorporates both photography and graphic design skills to create his artwork. Artworks will be available for purchase from the artists throughout the duration of the exhibit.
The Stephanie Ann Roper Gallery has free admission and is open to the public Sunday through Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information about the exhibition, contact the FSU Department of Visual Arts at 301-687-4797.
