GIBSONIA, PA -
Frostburg State sophomore first baseman Trish Brown (Manchester, Md./North Carroll)
earned her second straight AMCC Softball Player of the Week honor of her strong performance in four games last week.
Brown continued her torrid hitting, going 6-for-10 (.600) with a double, a triple, and a home run. She drove in six runs and scored three more times to help FSU to a 2-2 week.
In a doubleheader sweep of Hartwick Tuesday, Brown went 4-for-5 with a triple, a three-run homer, a walk, four RBIs and two runs scored.
She then accounted for all three FSU runs in a 7-3 loss to Bridgewater, knocking in two with a double and later scoring.
Brown leads the Bobcats in batting average (.433), runs (15), hits (26), home runs (3), RBIs (20), slugging percentage (.700) and on-base percentage (.493). She is also tied for the lead in doubles (5) and triples (1).
"Trish is heating up right as we open conference play with three straight doubleheaders against the three teams who finished ahead of us last year," said Bobcat head coach Chris Starke. "She is seeing the ball very well and is hitting with a lot of authority."
The Bobcats (13-8) return to action Thursday when they open AMCC play at Penn State Altoona starting at 3:00 pm.
