Cambridge American Stage Tour Will Present Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” at FSU
08/25/2010

Frostburg State University’s Department of English will host the Cambridge American Stage Tour presentation of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” on Monday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center’s Pealer Recital Hall.

“The Tempest” tells the story of Prospero, the deposed Duke of Milan, who summons up a storm to shipwreck his usurpers on his island. The audience is drawn into a world of young love ignited at a glance, bruised egos and damaged pride, a promised liberation soon to be betrayed and the end of a private empire.

Founded in 2000 and directed and produced entirely by members of the Cambridge University student body, CAST is celebrating this tour with an exciting and expansive 4,000-mile route, performing in 15 venues across the U.S. The 2010 tour is the biggest in the company’s history.

Ticket prices are $6 for students and $12 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased in room 115 of Dunkle Hall, or at the door on the night of the performance. For information or reservations, call 301-687-4221. For CAST information, visit www.castonline.org.

This event is sponsored by the FSU Department of English, with support from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Office of the Provost and the FSU Foundation, Inc.

FSU is committed to making all of its programs, services and activities accessible to persons with disabilities. To request accommodations through the ADA Compliance Office, call 301-687-4102 or use a Voice Relay Operator at 1-800-735-2258. -end-
