Canada's Cuillin to Perform at Frostburg State University
Cuillin
The Celtic super group Cuillin will come to Frostburg State University on Saturday, March 10, at 8 p.m. to perform their distinctive blend of traditional folk and rock and roll in the Lane Center's Alice R. Manicur Hall.

Frostburg's own Greg Latta, a fixture on the local folk and Celtic music scene, will open for Cuillin. The concert is free and open to the public.

Based in eastern Canada, the band consists of six multi-instrumentalists and vocalists with a collective background in Scottish, Irish and rock music. Members include: bassist Dave Hoare; lead singer/songwriter/guitarist Dave Carmichael; bagpiper/whistler/pianist/guitarist Matt MacIsaac; fiddler/pianist Mairi Rankin; percussionist/pianist Stefan Morin and guitarist Seth Fraser. Their individual backgrounds are as eclectic as their instruments. Hoare and Carmichael have won acclaim for their songwriting talents, while MacIsaac won the Junior World Bagpipe Championship in 1997 and Rankin danced in the U.S. tour of the wildly popular "Spirit of the Dance."
