Frostburg State senior Jodi Carpenter (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore)
, sophomore Danielle Carter (Rockville, Md./Rockville)
and sophomore Bonnie Axman (Burke, Va./James Robinson)
each earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week honors Monday.
Carpenter was named the AMCC Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to a perfect 5-0 mark.
The 5-11 middle blocker posted 68 kills, including 18 in a 3-1 win over Division II Pitt-Johnstown Wednesday. She also recorded 24 digs, 20 blocks and a .380 hitting percentage in five matches.
Carter took home the AMCC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week award by scoring four times in FSU’s 2-0-1 week.
She netted a hat trick in a 12-0 win over Bethany Saturday and followed with another goal in Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Eastern Mennonite.
Axman earned AMCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors by pacing FSU at the Lebanon Valley Invitational.
She ran the course in 21:04.22 to finish 23rd out of 190 participants, passing five runners over the last half mile. She was 29th at the same meet a year ago.
