"Christmas from Dublin" with Three Irish Tenors Returns to FSU
11/05/2001

The popular "Christmas from Dublin" with Three Irish Tenors returns to Frostburg State University for two nights, Tuesday, Nov. 20, and Wednesday, Nov. 21, after last year's sell-out performance.

Both shows, which are part of FSU's Cultural Events Series, will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center's Pealer Recital Hall. Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Tenors Ciaran Nagle, Anthony Norton and Tom Cregan join Irish harpist Jacqueline Whelan, seanachai (storyteller) and comedian Jimmy Kennedy, plus a heavenly host of Irish dancers and musicians, for a distinctively celebration of the Christmas spirit from the Emerald Isle.

This holiday treat features scenes of time-honored traditions and memories from an Irish childhood: a bathtub before an open fire while snow falls silently in the meadows, the Wren boys with festive straw masks and drums beckoning us to join them for some fun in the kitchen, the rhythm of footsteps on the flagstone floor as parents dance the night away and granddad regaling us with stories from his Dublin childhood.

The show includes Irish songs of the season, such as "Come Home to Ireland for Christmas," "Mrs. O'Leary's Christmas Cake" and "Christmas in Killarney," along with traditional holiday favorites.

Treat your family - or yourself - to this Christmas present of Irish holiday festivities that has delighted audiences throughout the world.

Dinner theatre specials are available prior to the performance at the following dinner theatre partner restaurants: Fratelli's Italian Restaurant; Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant; JB's Steak Cellar; Leone's Italian Restaurant and Oxford House.
