FROSTBURG, Md. -
Frostburg State senior Jen Cook (Cresaptown, Md./Allegany)
continues her impressive year breaking two single-season school records.
With her two wins in a sweep of Juniata Monday afternoon, she became FSU’s single-season leader with 15 victories. She is currently 15-2 this spring.
Back on April 6, she struckout 11 batters in a 2-1 win over Pitt-Greensburg to eclipse the single-season record with 91 strikeouts. She holds the previous mark after recording 87 strikeouts last season.
Cook is also on pace to set the record for strikeouts per seven innings (8.82) and fewest hits allowed per seven innings (5.5). She set both of the current records (7.05) and (5.77), respectively, last year.
FSU (15-9 overall, 9-1 in the AMCC) returns to action on Saturday, April 15 when it travels to Lake Erie for a doubleheader at 1:00 pm.
