FROSTBURG, Md. —
Frostburg State redshirt-senior defensive end Kevin Culbert (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley)
and sophomore running back Shanorm Young (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic)
took home weekly honors from the Atlantic Central Football Conference Monday for their outstanding performances in a 23-6 win over Thomas More Saturday.
Culbert earned a share of his fourth ACFC Defensive Player of the Week award this season after making nine tackles, including six solo stops and two sacks, and adding two pass breakups, an interception and three quarterback hurries.
Culbert leads FSU with 55 tackles, including 37 solo stops, 21.5 tackles for losses of 113 yards and 11.0 sacks for 83 yards. He also has four pass breakups, three hurries, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a blocked field goal.
Young took home a share of his second ACFC Offensive Player of the Week honor in three weeks after carrying 23 times for a career-high 154 yards and two touchdowns while catching four passes for 42 yards against Thomas More. It was his third 100-yard rushing game this season.
Young currently paces the Bobcats with 543 rushing yards and four touchdowns this year.
Frostburg State (3-3, 1-3 ACFC) returns to action this Saturday when it hosts Seton Hill (1-6) for Homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 pm.
