David Parker’s New World of Communication Comes to Mountain Ridge Stage
09/17/2008

Stimulating and uplifting, David Parker brings fresh meaning to the words "communication" and "entertainer." Presented by the Frostburg State University Cultural Events Series in partnership with the Mountain Ridge GEAR UP Program, David Parker brings his new world of communication to the stage at Mountain Ridge High School, Frostburg on Monday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. In one great package, Parker combines American Sign Language, live music, movement, visual comedy, non-stop energy and audience interaction.

An internationally acclaimed performer, Parker brings the whole audience together with his magical messages covering self-esteem, creativity and leadership. Parker's unique style has captivated the imaginations and won the hearts of family audiences in theaters and festivals across North America. Parker motivates as well as entertains; he loves to perform and his audience knows it. The audience cannot help but catch the infectious enthusiasm of this spirited entertainer.

Parker's versatility as an entertainer and educator makes this program a marvelous choice for school performances. Educators across North America endorse Parker's program as it lifts students’ and teachers' spirits and self-efficacy while they are discovering a new world of communication. Parker reaches out to his audience with an invitation to open their minds and try something new.

A veteran of television and theatre, he got his start in social work. A family entertainer in the tradition of Bill Cosby, he performs, educates, entertains and motivates with high energy and a light touch. Live keyboard accompaniment enhances Parker’s performance and allows him a 360-degree range of creativity and spontaneity in creating a special environment for each performance.

The David Parker show is free to the public; however, a ticket is required. Tickets may be ordered by calling 1-866-849-9237 or 301-687-3137, or by visiting http://ces.frostburg.edu.
