Frostburg State junior Sean Davis (Olney, Md./Sherwood)
has been named to the 2003 American Baseball Coaches Assocation NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional All-America Team.
Davis, a second baseman, was selected to the third team after leading the Bobcats with a .443 batting average, a school-record 65 hits, five triples, 44 RBI, 99 total bases, five sacrifice flies and 23 stolen bases.
Davis, who was one of just three players to start all 44 of FSU's games, also ranked second in doubles (15), extra-base hits (23), slugging percentage (.660), on-base percentage (.489) and ranked third in runs scored (39).
Additionally, he tied for third in home runs (3) and fielding percentage (.948) and tied for fourth in walks (13).
"Sean certainly had one of the best all-around seasons in school history, and this is a great honor for him and our program," said fourth-year head coach Chris McKnight. "We're looking for him to have even more success next year."
The Bobcats, who ranked as high 29th in the NCAA Division III poll late in the season, finished 31-12-1 overall, FSU's sixth 30-win season in school history.
The 31 victories also tied for the third-highest single-season total in the program's 39 years.
