GROVE CITY, Pa.
— Junior Shannon Dunnigan (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright)
broke the school record in the 1650-yard freestyle, with a time of 18:48.83, on the final day of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference swimming and diving championships at the Grove City Invitational.
The women’s team finished eighth overall and third in the AMCC, while the men fell to 10th overall and fourth in the conference.
For the women, Dunnigan collected two first-place finishes in the AMCC, the first in the 1650-yard freestyle (18:48.83) and the other in the 200-yard butterfly (2:28.56). Overall she finished, second and 14th in these events respectively.
Also competing in the 200-yard butterfly was sophomore Michelle Nash (Columbia, Md./Hammond) who placed second in the conference and 15th overall (2:36.72).
Freshman Thirza Roberto (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) also grabbed a first-place AMCC finis and eighth overall in the 200-yard backstroke(2:24.31).
On the men’s side, freshmen Matt Horton (Centerville, Va./Westfield) was the lone Bobcat competing on the final day. He finished 13th overall and third in the AMCC in the 200-yard butterfly.
This meet concludes the 2006-07 season for the Bobcat swimming and diving teams.
