Ferguson Seeking Pair of Titles at NCAA Outdoor National Track & Field Championships
FROSTBURG, MD —
Frostburg State junior Maria Ferguson (Fairmount Heights, Md./Laurel)
looks to challenge for All-America honors in two events when she participates in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships being held later this week at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn.
Ferguson will compete in the first of three qualifying heats in the 200-meter dash on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. Her qualifying time of 25.02 seconds is tied for the 15th-fastest performance in Division III this season.
The three heat winners and the next six fastest runners will advance to the finals set for Saturday at 4:20 p.m.
Ferguson will also race in second of three heats in the 100-meter dash on Friday at 7:10 p.m. She qualified for the national meeet with a time of 12.18 seconds, the 11th-quickest showing in the nation this year.

Ferguson placed third in the 100-meter dash at last year's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 12.32 seconds to earn All-America honors.
