ASHLAND, VA -
Randolph-Macon scored with 21 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and then tallied the game-winner with 4:21 remaining in the extra session to claim a 2-1 win over Frostburg State Saturday afternoon.
Frostburg State (5-12) opened the scoring when junior Amanda Boswell (Marbury, Md./Lackey) found the net with an assist from sophomore Tawni Buck (Port Deposit, Md./Perryville) with 19:09 left in the first half.
The Bobcats continued to hold the Yellow Jackets (7-7) at bay until Lyndsay Edginton score the equalizer with just 21 seconds left to force overtime.
In the 7-on-7 extra session, Edginton found the net again with 4:16 left to give R-MC the victory.
Sophomore Kristin Cousin (Edgewater, Md./South River) held the Yellow Jackets scoreless in the first half before giving way to senior Jessica Moore (Bowie, Md./Culpeper (Va.)), who played the second half and overtime.
The Bobcats will return to action tomorrow when they visit Christopher Newport to complete their game which was suspended by weather September 27. The contest will begin with FSU leading CNU, 3-2, with 27:24 left in the second half.
