— Frostburg State traveled to in-state rival Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon, and took a tough 5-0 loss at the hands of the Sea Gulls.
Salisbury (12-1) scored in the 16th minute of the first-half when Erin Budd scored on a penalty corner from Brittany Elliott. FSU then held SU, the #3 ranked team in the country, scoreless for the rest of the first-half. Sophomore goalie Kristin Cousin (South River/Edgewater, Md.) made six of her 11 total saves in the half.
Salisbury came out firing in the second half when it scored three goals in a five-minute span, ending with Lindsay Elliott scoring two goals to make the score 4-0 in the 43rd minute. They would add another goal in the 55th minute to finish the scoring on the day and make the final score 5-0.
The Bobcats (5-10) could never get on track offensively as they were out-shot 23-3 on the day.
Frostburg State returns to action on October 21st when it travels to Villa Julie College at 4:00 p.m.
