— Frostburg State dominated most of the game but fell to host Catholic University, 2-1, in overtime Sunday afternoon.
The first-half was scoreless as the Bobcat (4-9) defense didn't allow the Cardinals (4-6) a shot and kept the majority of the possesion in their offensive zone.
Catholic got on the scoreboard early in the second-half when Melissa Schneider scored in the 41st minute to take a 1-0 lead. FSU answered just over nine minutes later when senior Kim Dean (Hereford/Hampstead, Md.) knocked a goal in on an assist from sophomore Tawni Buck (Perryville/Port Deposit, Md.).
Frostburg State had a great chance to take the lead in the final seconds as freshman Amanda Griswold (Magruder/Rockville, Md.) had a breakaway and passed to Dean for a goal, but it was ruled that time had expired so the goal was disallowed.
The Bobcats then entered their first overtime game of the season and just ten minutes in Stephanie Roselle of Catholic beat goalie Kristin Cousin (South River/Edgewater, Md.) to win the game 2-1.
Cousin made five saves on the day, while her counterpart Erin Swift made 14 saves on 19 FSU shots to take the win.
Frostburg State returns to action on October 14th when it travels to Bridgewater College at 4:00 p.m.
