Fifteen Bobcats Named to ACFC All-Academic Team

NEWPORT NEWS, VA — Fifteen Frostburg State University football players are among 67 student-athletes recently named to the 2003-04 Atlantic Central Football Conference All-Academic Team.

  • Mike Davis (So., DE, Chesapeake, Md./Bohemia Manor)
  • Muhamad Hajjar (FR., WR, Gaithersburg, Md./Magruder)
  • Jack Hopkins (So., OL, Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore)
  • David King (So., DE, Cascade, Md./Smithsburg)
  • Steve Loughry (Fr., TE, Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll)
  • Terence McCann (Sr., LB, Frostburg, Md./North East)
  • Tyler Miller (Fr., FB, Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon)
  • Ryan Nazelrod (Fr., DE, Manchester, Md./North Carroll)

ACFC newcomer SUNY Brockport topped the list with 18 honorees, while the two-time defending conference champion Bobcats were second with 15 selections.

Salisbury had 11 players, and Wesley followed with 10. Apprentice added seven players while ACFC newcomer Buffalo State had six.

To be selected to the ACFC All-Academic team, student-athletes must have earned a 3.0 grade point average or higher in both the fall and spring semesters of the 2003-04 academic year.
