Frostburg State junior Richelle Foor (Everett, Pa./Everett)
has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference softball player of the week after her strong performance at the Ferrum Invitational last weekend.
Foor helped the Bobcats to a 2-2 finish by hitting a team-best .600 (9-for-15), driving in nine runs and scoring five times.
She collected at least two hits in every game and went 3-for-5 with five RBI in FSU's season-opening 14-5 win over Randolph-Macon.
"Richelle gave us great consistency in the heart of our lineup this past weekend while splitting time at first base and designated hitter," said head coach Chris Starke. "She's seeing the ball well right now, and we're looking for a big year from her."
La Roche senior Amy Kurtz took home the AMCC Pitcher of the Week honor by tossing four complete-game victories.
She has yet to allow an earned run this season as the Redhawks have jumped out to a 6-2-1 start.
