FROSTBURG, MD -
Frostburg State will look to snap a two-game losing streak on Saturday when it visits Oberlin College in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The Bobcats are coming off their second straight hard-fought loss, having dropped a heart-breaking 31-25 triple-overtime contest at home to Brockport last Saturday.
FSU outgained Brockport, 452-371, and had a 20-17 edge in first downs, but four Bobcat turnovers (three INTs and a lost fumble) led to 16 Golden Eagle points.
Oberlin downed Hiram, 35-14, last Saturday for its first win of the season and just the program’s fourth win since 1993 (the Yeomen are 4-88 in the last 10 years).
Oberlin, which hasn’t won back-to-back games since 1989, fell behind, 14-0, after the first quarter but shut down Hiram the rest of the day. Sophomore running back Chris Jordan ran 23 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns to pace the victory.
